SCHUNK mechatronic components as the basis for autonomous systems

The handling and pressing of a pinion into a workpiece holder is demonstrated in the cell. This handling of two completely different components requires maximum flexibility. To ensure this, the robot is equipped with an end-of-arm solution consisting of mechatronic SCHUNK robot accessory components, grippers and sensors. The highlight is a 6-axis force / moment sensor. It measures the process forces and moments with high precision and a high resolution to enable the force- and moment-controlled joining of components. The measured data is archived and can be accessed later for purposes of quality documentation.
